Open access means a bright future for scientific research | Guardian.co.uk

A good article from the Guardian looking at the recent Open Access decision in the UK.

See here for some of my writing on Open Access andcopyright in the academy. Open Access means the undercutting Capital’s ownership and control over science. Now, we just need to do it for the funding and undo the broken policies pushing the direct commercialization of university research as the sole purpose of the academy.

This is a very important step for the UK to be taking. Other countries need to follow suit.
