Bob Rae, Mark Adler and Steven Fletcher have it all wrong about CUPW's position on Palestine | Bickerton

Tory MP Mark Adler's claims that the CUPW newsletter was radical propaganda have been supported by Steven Fletcher and Bob Rae. Obviously none of them actually read the newsletter in question. It details the struggler's and courage of four Palestinian women. It is deplorable that none of these politicians ever express support for the human rights of Palestinians.

See for yourself in their publication section:

*Reflections from Palestine* Ruth Breen, from the Fredericton local, went to Palestine in 2012 funded by the Atlantic Region’s Solidarity Fund. She shares several Palestinian women’s paths to challenge and resist the Israeli occupation.

The following is from the Hansard - March 5th that makes you wonder if they even read it.

/*Mr. Mark Adler (York Centre, CPC):   * Mr. Speaker, constituents from my riding have brought to my attention the latest propagandist newsletter issued by the radical Canadian Union of Postal Workers to its members. This radical political pamphlet outlines Fredericton local member Ruth Breen’s trip to Israel using public funds, while at the same time accusing Canada of committing war crimes through its support for Israel. / / Could the minister responsible for Canada Post comment on CUPW’s latest trip using public funds? / / *Hon. Steven Fletcher (Minister of State (Transport), CPC): previous intervention * Mr. Speaker, what the member has raised is awful. Using public funds for radical political trips is wrong. CUPW should apologize for this misuse of public funds and its anti-Israeli rhetoric. / / Will the Leader of the Opposition continue to support his big union bosses and their radical political views, or will he stand with taxpayers and demand an apology for the misuse of these public funds and to the state of Israel? / / Hon. Steven Fletcher (Minister of State (Transport), CPC): previous intervention Mr. Speaker, what the member has raised is awful. Using public funds for radical political trips is wrong. CUPW should apologize for this misuse of public funds and its anti-Israeli rhetoric. / * Will the Leader of the Opposition continue to support his big union bosses and their radical political views, or will he stand with taxpayers and demand an apology for the misuse of these public funds and to the state of Israel?*
